Three companies, one goal: supporting young talent

Achieving success together: final technician project with Stadtwerke Ochtrup, Stadtwerke Gronau & KIMA

Over the past three months, KIMA has once again supported four prospective technicians on their way to completing their final project.

Together with Stadtwerke Ochtrup and Stadtwerke Gronau, an entire border pumping station of two utilities was upgraded in terms of electrical engineering and automated in a future-proof manner. Whether it was the sophisticated networking of two control systems (PCS7 and WinCC), the energy-efficient control concept for the pumps or the communication with all those involved - the team of technicians impressed across the board.

After exciting weeks full of new insights into switchgear construction, CAD engineering, hardware and software engineering, Christian, Hendrik, Martin and Tom were finally able to present their project to the public at the Rheine Vocational College trade fair.

The switchgear itself had to remain in Gronau, as it had already been put into operation. In addition to us, the specialist teachers were also so impressed by the project and the team that the work was honoured with the top grade of ‘very good’.

In conclusion, the candidates themselves praised the good cooperation with the municipal utilities and KIMA: ‘This was a project that will be remembered and makes us proud. Many long days, but in the end it was definitely worth it. Many thanks for the constant support and your open ear!’

Great work guys!
