Looking back on the KIMA Medium Voltage Days 2024: a great success!
24 October 2024
On October 10 and 11, the KIMA Medium Voltage Days took place under the motto “MV systems in the factory automation network”. The event was attended by numerous visitors, including our valued customers, industry experts and suppliers.
With practical presentations and an impressive line-up of medium-voltage systems, we provided insights into our approach to our national and international projects. A particular highlight was the live demonstrations of switching operations on MV systems, supported by our MVIC (Medium Voltage Interface Cabinet) and a WinCC control system.
The MVIC acts as an interface manager between the medium-voltage switchgear and the process control system. The following items are part of the MVIC control system:
- Diagnostic functions in the touch panel, operating aids, functions such as interlock matrix and
- signal checking and signal pre-processing. All digital signals, such as position messages from the circuit breakers, disconnectors and earthing switches, are read in and processed, as are all messages from the protection devices.
- Safety: Safety shutdowns, guided maintenance operation and 2-stage breaker failure protection for medium-voltage drives. Remote control via a control system rounds off the MVIC's performance spectrum.
In addition, together with SIEMENS, we were able to present the new SF6-free BlueGIS switchgear in the Siemens show truck, which was also received with interest by the participants.
The presentation by Dr. Walther on the subject of “Power Quality” met with great interest and stimulated intensive discussions. In order to limit the number of participants to 10, Dr. Walther had to present this lecture 4 times. -Thanks for that!
In addition to practical demonstrations, the event provided an excellent platform for professional exchange. Our experts were on hand to answer questions, discuss the latest trends and developments and also present innovative solutions in the field of control technology and various control systems.
We would like to thank our guests and the KIMA team for the successful event and look forward to possible further events in the field of electrical and automation technology!
