Efficient control room concept for clinker storage system

Wotan Zement builds a new clinker silo plant

An important project milestone was reached today in perfect weather:

We are pleased to present an exciting project at our customer Wotan Zement. A new clinker silo with two silos and a double receiving box is being built here – an important step towards being able to load the various products faster and more efficiently. The modern silo technology enables our customer to expand its capacities and speed up delivery processes.

As part of this project, we are responsible for the complete engineering and supply of the electrical and automation equipment. From the initial planning phase with pre-engineering and coordination with construction and mechanical engineering, through the design of the control room as a 40-foot E-container, to software development based on Siemens TIA with connection to the existing process control system, KIMA is responsible for all services. Our delivery includes, among other things:

  • Customised 40-foot E-container as the main control room
  • MV transformer and Low voltage main distribution with 2000A infeed
  • Drive and control panels, compensation, remote frequency converter panels and lighting distributors
  • Complete e-assembly and commissioning including removal of cable routes, installation, erection of the e-container and connection of all panels.

A central component of our package is the remote E-Container control room – a real eye-catcher on site thanks to the customer logo.

Already set up, it awaits its future use. The extended containers not only offer optimum protection for the installed technology, but can also be flexibly extended and transported. In addition to air conditioning for the control room, raised floor, cable entries, fire protection features, etc., the E-Containers can be individually equipped. You can find more information about the advantages of our e-container solutions here: Using converted containers as a control room

Our customer is very satisfied with the progress of the project so far. The project manager on the customer side summarises it like this:

Since our first contact with KIMA, we have had a consistently positive feeling. The team is doing a great job – both on and off the construction site.

We would like to thank Wotan Zement for their trust and look forward to successfully commissioning the new plant together in the coming days.
