Ready for the Future: In-Depth Testing of the New Danfoss iC7 Generation of Frequency Converters
To help our customers transition to the new generation of Danfoss frequency converters in the utilities sector, colleagues from the #KIMA hardware and software department have thoroughly analyzed the new iC7 frequency converter. For the preliminary test, Th. Niehues GmbH kindly provided us with a loaner unit, which we integrated into a test vehicle. Our programmer successfully tested various communication interfaces—including Profinet and Modbus—with the #Siemens S7-1500.
This allowed us to standardize both hardware and software interfaces and gain important insights for future projects. The goal is to be able to offer our customers even more efficient and end-to-end solutions in the field of drive technology in the future.
With the iC7 frequency converter, #Danfoss Drives is introducing a new platform specifically designed for demanding automation and drive solutions.
Of particular note is the precise and stable motor control, which ensures high accuracy and reliability even at low speeds. Another key aspect is the integrated cybersecurity concept, which provides comprehensive protection for the drive, machine, and network, thereby meeting the growing demands for industrial security.
