Critical infrastructure: retrofitting a low-voltage main distribution during ongoing operation

Ensuring security of supply with KIMA - Successful renewal of a local gas supplier's low voltage main distribution.

We recently successfully completed a challenging project for a local gas supplier. The aim was to modernize the gas supplier's main power supply during ongoing operations while ensuring maximum security of supply.

Project highlights:

Renewal of the LV distribution board: replacement of 13 cabinets of a 1000A low-voltage main distribution board with redundant transformer infeed.
Provisional power supply: Supply of a temporary power supply to maintain critical systems during the works.
Step-by-step conversion: Successive reconnection of the cables and lines to the temporary solution, dismantling of the old distribution board, installation of the new LV main distribution board and reconnection.
Safety standards: Integration of the switch cabinets into the equipotential bonding and testing of the electrical installation in accordance with DIN VDE.
Holistic implementation: From planning, engineering and circuit diagram creation to commissioning in close cooperation with the customer.
